We were lucky enough to get tickets to Centre Court, Wimbledon. We had applied for tickets using the ballot for a few years so were excited to eventually get them.
I’m not sure what the temperature was but it was definitely one of the hottest day of the year. We were sweltering but loved every moment. We enjoyed it like it might be our only time there. We sat on Murray’s Mound(or Henman Hill!), ate strawberries & cream and cooled down with a few Pimms. Tried to walk around the whole event but with the heat and the crowds it was difficult. We visited all the Wimbledon shops, bought expensive and useless memorabilia and just thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Oh yeah and tennis! We got to see two woman matches and one and only Nadal. It was the first day of Wimbledon so there wasn’t much pressure so we just enjoyed the tennis. As usual with live sport it is so different from watching on the tv. Everything seems much smaller in real life.
We left about 6 pm so we could get back to the hotel in time for the World Cup football matches that night. Living the dream! It was a long day but so worth it.
